Events Management Company

Who they are:

Events management company and publishing company.

How we helped:

RJF was approached  because their previous accountant had made a real mess of the accounts.
The owner didn’t know where they were up to with her numbers or whether she was making money on her events and the magazine. She knew overall that the company was making a profit but only when they had the annual statutory accounts, which were not ready until 9 months after the year end had passed.
They needed her accounts bringing up to date and they wanted real time information so they could make strategic decisions fast.

Having experience of being dropped into companies with various accounting problems, RJF was able to bring the accounts up to date quickly and efficiency. By implementing Xero and using the tracking system in their software reports were implemented that showed revenues and costs by events. This means monthly forecasts can be produced, enabling the client to make strategic decisions quickly and effectively with confidence, rather than waiting for 9 months after the year end for actual figures.

RJF was also asked to advise on the disposal of shareholdings that it had in another company. Due to our experience in Mergers and Acquisitions we were able to advise and negotiate a sale that was five times higher than the client thought the shares were worth.
This is a service the clients previous accountants had not provided nor even offered as most accounting firms will not due to a lack of real life experience in this area.

● Rolling forecasts are now in place to allow for scenario planning.
● Monthly reports are issued enabling the client to make strategic decisions based on real time, accurate figures.
● RJF was able to advise and negotiate a shareholdings sale close to £500,000.
